Information Privacy Act 2009
WaterSecure is regulated by the Information Privacy Act 2009. That Act places obligations on WaterSecure in relation to the personal information of individuals.
Personal information is defined in section 12 of the Act as information or an opinion…..about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or opinion.
The Act regulates, amongst other things, WaterSecure’s collection, use and disclosure of personal information and the security of and access to personal information. More information in relation to the Information Privacy Act is available on the website of Queensland’s Information Commissioner.
Privacy Policy
WaterSecure is in the process of producing a written privacy policy which will be published on this website once it is complete.
Site usage
Information is automatically collected whenever a person visits our website. The information collected includes data about your web browser, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. The information is collected to monitor and analyse website usage.
No attempt is made to identify the user except where there may be cause to do so such as, for example, the unlikely event of an investigation where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant.
Completion of forms
When you provide us with personal information by the completion of a form on this website (e.g. the site tour request form) that information is used for the purpose referred to on the web page containing that form.
E-mail
E-mail correspondence sent to this site will be treated as a public record and will be retained as required by the Public Records Act 2002 and other relevant regulations.
Unless specified, your name and address will not be added to a mailing list, nor will we disclose these details to third parties without your consent, unless required by law. However, e-mail messages may be monitored by authorised IT staff for purposes such as system troubleshooting and maintenance.
Obtaining access to personal information
The Information Privacy Act 2009 provides you with a right to make a formal application for access to personal information which we have collected about you.
