Research and Development

WaterSecure’s Western Corridor Recycled Water Scheme is the first scheme of its kind in Australia, placing us at the forefront of water re-use in Australia. We are committed to continual improvement of the technology and processes used at our plants, as well as the greater water re-use industry.

It is our mission to inform, influence and participate in the ongoing development of associated water industries and we are currently involved in two major research and development activities.

In partnership with our Scheme Operator, Veolia Water Australia, we are hosting the Chair in Water Recycling at the University of Queensland’s Advanced Water Management Centre. The research team is headed by prominent water industry figure, Professor Jurg Keller.

WaterSecure is one of the founding partners of the Australian Water Recycling Centre of Excellence, providing administrative and corporate resources in addition to our role on the Research Advisory Committee.
