The Centre is supported by leading organisations in water research and water infrastructure management. As well as WaterSecure, the partners are the University of Queensland, the University of New South Wales, the CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation), Griffith University, Veolia Water Australia and GHD Pty Ltd. These organisations constitute the founding partners and each has a representative on the Centre’s Research Advisory Committee.

Through the knowledge, experience and industry alliances of the Administering Organisation and its founding partners, together with the fresh ideas of new industry and research partners, the Centre will become an international leader in water recycling research.

The Centre will facilitate ground-breaking research in water recycling with the goal of discovering and commercialising new water recycling technologies. This will enhance broader community understanding of this technology and promote the acceptance and application of this valuable water source across Australia and internationally.

In managing these research projects the Centre also aims to provide rich learning opportunities for researchers and industry professionals, and to develop best practice educational tools which will help to lift the bar in water management Australia-wide.

The Centre is currently conducting a vital gap analysis of the trends and opportunities in water recycling research through its Research Advisory Committee led by independent Chair Ian Law. This research will inform the Centre’s Strategic Research Plan which will guide the Centre’s research investment strategy.
