What we do

imageASmallWaterSecure – part of the SEQ Water Grid – is a sustainable water business providing climate resilient sources of water now and for the future through the Western Corridor Recycled Water Scheme and the Gold Coast Desalination Plant.

We have the capacity to supply up to 365 megalitres of water to the grid, industrial and agricultural users each day. Currently we supply desalinated water to homes and businesses on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane; water from Western Corridor is supplied to power stations and will be used to supplement Wivenhoe Dam if the region’s dams drop below 40 per cent.

Our plants use world-class technology to create safe, pure sources of water. Reverse osmosis is at the heart of the desalination and water purification processes, making WaterSecure a leader in membrane technology use in Australia.

It is our mission to inform, influence and participate in the ongoing development of associated water industries and we are involved in research and development activities through our relationship with the University of Queensland, in partnership with Veolia Water, and through the Australian Water Recycling Centre of Excellence.
